Every parent believes that his or her child is uniquely smart and talented.
This holds true for Mr. Manuel and Mrs. Marjorie Montenegro since it has been their tradition to be equally present whenever Marielle Charlize, their daughter, is set to receive an award for her achievements. Indeed, just like other parents, Mr. and Mrs. Montenegro celebrate their daughter’s successes as a family.
Marielle Charlize is an exceptional student in many aspects – academics, sports, singing, dancing, and acting. Aside from her many activities in school, she is also very much involved in her Kumon study! Amid the challenges of balancing her schedule in school and Kumon, Marielle Charlize was greatly motivated to accomplish her goals. “I have always dreamt of becoming a student with multiple achievements, and an inspiration to others,” she proudly says.
So what really is the secret recipe in raising a multi-talented child? Mr. and Mrs. Montenegro share a few tips on how their unyielding support molded their Marielle Charlize’s confidence:
- Entertain your child’s enthusiasm. The Montenegros noticed their daughter’s natural enthusiasm in trying different challenges especially those which are Math-related. “We really searched for a well-known study program, then we thought about Kumon since we’ve been hearing a lot of success stories from our friends.” This is why Mr. and Mrs. Montenegro enrolled Marielle Charlize in the Kumon Math Program, just after they tried the program during the Free Trial!
- Let your child experience activities beyond academics. Marielle Charlize did not only excel in Math, but also in her extra-curricular activities. She divided her time among various activities like ballet classes, varsity swimming trainings, and singing lessons, while being in Kumon. “Through Kumon, she became more prepared for her other activities since she’s already trained academically in the Math Program. She has appreciated the value of hard work and patience from her Kumon lessons and eventually gained confidence to compete in swimming contests abroad!,” Mr. Montenegro proudly adds.
- Be actively involved in your child’s commitments. As a parent, showing your commitment on a certain task resonates with your child. “We make sure that we accompany our daughter as she attends her Kumon classes. We wait for her to finish, and listen to her teacher’s comments on her achievements.” Mr. and Mrs. Montenegro also share that they would bring Marielle Charlize to the Center together to show their commitment to the Kumon Method.
- Challenge the ordinary. “We never quit no matter what. This is how Marielle Charlize became a Math Completer and an achiever of sorts because we continually value the traits of discipline and time management. We will always be proud of our daughter in all her future achievements!”
