At Kumon, face-to-face classes for students involve a study routine where they follow certain steps prior to sitting down and answering their worksheets – from fetching their vinyl folders containing their assigned worksheets for the day from the rack to cleaning up after themselves upon finishing their Kumon study. The classroom environment paired with their study routine encourages accountability and discipline, as students adhere to structured schedules and engage in face-to-face interactions with Instructors.
Online Learning
Online learning, also known as e-learning or distance education, transcends geographical barriers and time constraints by delivering instruction entirely through digital platforms. This relatively new mode of study offers unparalleled accessibility, allowing students to engage in learning activities from anywhere with an internet connection.
Kumon’s online learning is similar to its face-to-face setup with only a few minor differences. Instead of going to and from the Center, students conduct their worksheet study at home after getting their assigned worksheets from the Center or having it delivered to their homes. Instructors use mobile devices or personal computers and video conferencing platforms to facilitate and monitor the student’s learning.
Hybrid Learning
Kumon allows students to experience both the convenience of online learning and the distraction-free environment of face-to-face learning by combining both modalities offering a flexible and versatile approach to education. In a hybrid model, students participate in a blend of in-person and virtual activities, allowing for increased autonomy and customization of learning experiences.
Parents can request the Center Instructor on what days their child can conduct face-to-face study and online. However, this is still subject to the availability of schedule in the Center. This enables busy parents to have more free reign when it comes to their child’s study schedule.

At Kumon, we have developed a digital platform capable of catering to the various needs of your children when it comes to the mode of learning. Enter KUMON CONNECT, a tablet-based study platform where Kumon students can receive, answer, and correct their worksheets.
In this platform, Instructors can remotely assign ability-appropriate worksheets to your child based on their Diagnostic Test and study progress. Aside from its likeness to the traditional paper worksheets in terms of study routine, KUMON CONNECT allows parents to directly access their child’s progress in the platform. This gives parents a better grasp on their child’s current academic progress, enabling them to address pain points and give feedback to Instructors.
Lastly, KUMON CONNECT gives better flexibility to you and your child when it comes to their study time with Kumon. Since it is tablet-based, your child can bring the device and answer their worksheets be it in the Center or at the comfort of your own home.
