You would easily think that life is so much better without math, but think of this scenario:
Your mom cooks dinner and she suddenly asks for your help. She wants you to take out different ingredients that would go with the dinner she is preparing. You’ll need 10 eggs, 2 teaspoons of salt, 2 whole pieces of chicken, and 2 cups of water. Now imagine if you didn’t know math or how to count, how would you be able to go about this?
Math puts structure and finds balance in the things we do. May it be as simple as counting or adding, these are simple ways we can use math in our everyday lives.
Here are more reasons why math is important:

1. Math is good for your brain.
Studies show that learning math increases brain activity associated with visual attention and decision-making tasks. This means that you are training your brain to become more attentive to small details and other processes. Therefore, it’s best to develop your math skills early on so that your brain gets used to this kind of exercise!

2. Math can be your tool for success.
With math, you learn to become a better problem solver and to think logically. This ability to think critically and solve problems on your own will let you go a long way in school—and beyond. Many professionals have emphasized how math can help you prepare for college and your career. Understanding basic math functions can be advantageous since these are important in any type of university course or career you will be choosing.

3. Math helps you become financially wise.
Math can be helpful when you balance your budget because you will have a good understanding of how to make sure you’re spending wisely. Once you can do this, you will less likely overspend since you’ve learned how to partition your expenses and savings accordingly.

4. Math is a universal language.
Did you know that math is understood in the same manner worldwide? The symbols we use in math don’t have to be translated into any other language for people to understand them. It’s already fixed that addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division use the same equation symbols.
Yes, mathematics may be a subject that’s easy to hate. But developing strong mathematical skills will help you in your future endeavors.
