Kumon has been around for more than 50 years, originating from Japan and borne out of a father’s love for his son. This initiative gave life to the Kumon Method of Learning which serves thousands of children globally.
As much as a child’s learning ability is different from other children, the Kumon Program is also different from other programs. Here are the reasons which set Kumon apart from other learning programs:
1. Kumon goes far beyond just tutoring.
Critical thinking skills partnered with the ability to learn new topics independently is what the Kumon Method fosters in every child. The worksheets have examples and hints that guide students in learning new topics on their own. However, individual instruction is given to students by the Kumon Instructor (when necessary). Through this, the student gets to learn something new and celebrate his/her achievement!

2. Kumon emphasizes learning through daily study.
One of Kumon’s feature is that Kumon study can be continued at home since the worksheets are designed to be accomplished daily. As students create their own Kumon schedule, they become aware of their Kumon time and increase their level of aptitude and responsibility in doing their worksheets.

3. In Kumon, your child gets to progress at his/her own pace.
Compared to a classroom setting wherein a teacher follows a specific curriculum, Kumon Instructors prepare an individualized lesson plan to ensure that your child will progress regardless of his/her academic level. Your child’s learning abilities are meticulously honed through the worksheets, and the guidance of his/her Kumon Instructor.

4. Kumon’s benefits can be experienced beyond the school and the Center.
Kumon’s worksheets follow a disciplined approach to advance your child’s learning abilities in the classroom and throughout life. Many Kumon students study beyond their grade-level through self-learning even at home due to daily study. When these students learn to improve their academic and non-academic skills, they become independent, diligent, persevering, disciplined, and confident.

Hi , I have an 8 years old daughter. Can I know po kung meron mga short class na inooffer ang Kumon for Math? While she’s on vacation lang po sana.Thank you 😊
Hi Ms. Analiza!
We hope you and your family are safe and well.
Thank you for your interest in Kumon!
Let me share with you that Kumon is a long-term program. There is no definite number of months as to how long students should stay. We do encourage that they stay at least a year so that they may get the full benefits of the program. Some students stay until they complete the Math and/or Reading program.
We cannot guarantee that your child will show significant improvements if they stay for a short time only.
